SharpLink Welcomes Back Dave Abbott as Chief Technology Officer

Dave Abbott has returned to SharpLink, assuming the position of Chief Technology Officer.

Possessing two decades of experience in the field, Abbott transitions from Sportradar, where he ascended to the role of Managing Director of U.S. Sport Media during an eight-year tenure.

This appointment reconnects Abbott with Rob Phythian, SharpLink’s CEO and Co-Founder. The pair share a collaborative past, having previously worked in tandem at both SportData and Sportradar.

“Dave and I possess a longstanding and fruitful history of collaboration, both as partners and within team settings, formerly at SportData and Sportradar US. Consequently, I have direct knowledge and respect for his foresight, expertise, and abilities regarding innovation and problem-solving,” remarked Phythian, welcoming Abbott to the company.

“A genuine technology visionary, Dave will be tasked with motivating and expanding SharpLink’s engineering department, steering our technology strategy, and advancing our objective to be the premier provider of groundbreaking technology for fantasy sports and complimentary gaming, and geographically focused fan interaction.”

Abbott also expressed enthusiasm for his new role: “Returning feels great.”

Throughout my collaboration with Sportradar and SportsData, I cultivated a robust professional rapport with Rob and Tom. We are united by a genuine dedication to exceptional work and a pragmatic methodology, which enabled us to leverage our respective strengths and accomplish remarkable results.

The prospect of joining forces with them once more at SharpLink fills me with enthusiasm. They have assembled an outstanding group, and I am certain that collectively, we can significantly influence the US sports wagering sector at this pivotal juncture. I firmly believe that our most impactful contributions are yet to come.
