Betsson has inked an exclusive sports wagering agreement for the 2022 Copa Libertadores Femenina, South America’s top women’s soccer competition.
This collaboration grants Betsson widespread brand exposure throughout the championship. Their logo will be prominently displayed in venues, media backgrounds, and on the tournament’s online platforms. Moreover, Betsson will proudly sponsor the “Official Starting Lineups,” further solidifying their visibility.
In addition to branding, Betsson gains access to valuable tournament resources and footage, furnishing them with ample material for their own marketing initiatives.
Jesper Svensson, Chief Executive Officer of Betsson, emphasized their rationale: “The choice to sponsor one of the largest football championships globally in 2022 is straightforward – Betsson is firmly dedicated to supporting athletics at all tiers, and we are particularly enthusiastic about women’s athletics and advancing gender parity.”
He further stressed, “The Copa Libertadores Femenina sets a remarkable precedent in terms of female representation, with 42% of officials, 55% of coaches, and 18% of board members being women. This aligns seamlessly with Betsson’s own principles, as roughly 40% of our workforce are women.”
Betsson has been strategically bolstering its footprint in the Latin American market. They have been making substantial investments in sports betting infrastructure customized for the region and continuously enhancing their offerings to elevate the player experience. This commitment was evident when they acted as an official regional sponsor for the men’s Copa América in 2021.
Juan Emilio Roa, the Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer of CONMEBOL, greeted Betsson as a backer of the 2022 Copa América Femenina. He stressed that this collaboration, for one of the biggest competitions in South America, is founded on a mutual goal to cultivate women’s soccer in the area by fostering the involvement of females of all ages in the sport.
This declaration follows closely after Betsson initiated internet gaming services in the province and city of Buenos Aires in April 2022.
