Conor Grant, the chief executive officer of Flutters in the United Kingdom and Ireland, is departing from his position. He’s taking a pre-arranged career break to spend more quality time with his loved ones after over two decades in the online betting industry. Grant will leave the company by the end of the year.
Ian Brown, the former chief executive of Booking.com’s travel division, has been chosen to take over Grant’s role. Brown will join Flutters in September and will be responsible for the Paddy Power, Sky Betting & Gaming, Betfair, and Tombola brands in the UK and Ireland. He will collaborate with Grant for a brief period to ensure a seamless transition.
Mr. Brown stated, “I have been tracking Flutter and their remarkable brand narrative for a long time, and I am excited to be joining the UK and Ireland operations in September.” “Flutter possesses a fantastic collection of renowned brands, and I anticipate assisting them in expanding their dominant position in online entertainment.”
Peter Jackson, Flutter’s chief executive, added, “I am pleased to welcome a leader of Ian’s stature to our executive team. He brings a vast amount of experience leading online ventures across a variety of sectors, including travel, hospitality, business services, and financial services.
“He has a proven history of successful transformations at several large companies, including global brands Booking.com and RentalCars.com, constructing scalable technology platforms and organizations that are customer-focused, emphasizing convenience, accessibility, and security to drive growth.”
Grant welcomed Brown’s appointment, stating that the business would continue to prosper.
Grant said, “I am incredibly proud to have led the UK and Ireland business through such a significant period for Flutter and the industry as a whole.” “Flutter’s market-leading brands, talented team, and dedication to safe gambling are what distinguish this business.
“I have no doubt that the business will continue to grow strongly and responsibly, and I anticipate seeing it continue to flourish in the future.”
Jackson added, “I want to express my gratitude to Conor for his substantial contributions to Flutter.”
His contributions to our strategic vision and direction for our UK and Ireland operations have established a solid foundation for our future expansion. His leadership approach has consistently prioritized customer safety, and he has propelled our industry-leading “Play Responsibly” strategy with immense enthusiasm and resolve.
“I have relished working with Conor and I will personally miss his exceptional business acumen and sharp understanding of commercial opportunities. I am disheartened by his departure but extend my best wishes for his future pursuits.”
